Peace Made the Front Page!

Peace finally made the FRONT PAGE ! This year the  Maui Peace Day Concert celebrated on September 20th, made the front page of the Maui News Wrap, the free and delivered to everyone, every where on Maui, weekly paper. Truly an important First :)

Maui's annual observance of the International Day of Peace was observed on September 20th with a peace concert at the Ka'ahumanu center stage.  The eight hour concert included plenty of music, dance and song, the perfect peace promoters, with  some of Maui's finest artists performing.  Opening entertainer was Curt Lee, followed by the Ukulele Pops Kupuna band, then Jason Schwartz,  Bonnie Newman, Louise Lambert, the Hau'oli Hula Sisters, Reggae singer and Maui's Peace Ambassador, Marty Dread followed by Omar, the Kamehameha school ukulele band, Chinese ribbon dance by Sifu Kali, Passengers Group, Christ the King youth group and the grand finale with the Maui Taiko Drummers.

The theme of this years observance is "Development: Children First, Peace=Future".  To advance this agenda non profit groups tend tables to offer information and assistance.  Representatives from: Women Helping Women, Maui Mediation Services, Parents of Children Together, Domestic Violence Task Force, and Aloha House with their 3 sister groups are present to assist those in need.

Based on last year's report, it is estimated that there will be over 10,000 events on the planet this year and that over 200 million people will participate.

Created in 1981 by unanimous resolution  of the United Nations, the observance of the International Day of Peace has grown exponentially in recent years and now reaches every level of society.

Along with Maui there are thousands of organizations worldwide that observe the International Day of Peace every year,  These organizations usually post information and material on their websites, and present their own lists of Peace Day events online.  We encourage you to browse this information at the following link:

Another Peace First at UHMC
September 25th
I had the opportunity to share information about International Peace Week celebrations around the world. This, to an audience of about 100 adults, during Toastmaster's Humorous Speech competition at the University of Hawaii's Maui Campus.

The wonderfully humorous event, coupled with the spread of a great pot luck are two more perfect peace promoters (PPP) easily drawing all present into the higher vibration of Peace.

What an amazing unfoldenment of joy this peace week produced.
May your days be as beautiful and peaceful as a day at the Alii Kula Lavender Farm. http://www.aklmaui.com/
